AFFORDABLE ENERGY

Coalition for Clean, Affordable and Reliable Energy

Clean and affordable energy available 24/7 is essential to any reform

Electrical Engineer

The Coalition for Clean, Affordable, and Reliable Energy (“CARE”) was created to engage on energy policy, including proposed legislation to move the state toward ambitious renewable energy goals.

While the proposals vary between legislative bodies in the Michigan House and Senate, both would move toward a 100% renewable energy standard by 2035, increase energy waste and reduction performance metrics and requirements, and give the Michigan Public Commission’s overly broad authority to regulate energy policy.

The CARE Coalition agrees climate change is a major challenge to our national, regional, and state economies and is collectively dedicated to being good stewards of the environment and their communities. However, we believe the clean energy transition must be implemented responsibly—and focused on energy affordability and reliability.
